During the 1960s and 1970s, the use of new (often low-quality) biocides as a weapon against microorganisms in food production and health care was widespread. In the 1980s, when it was proven that these new biocides caused serious biological and environmental damage, global action was taken that largely banned the use of these toxic chemicals. Yet, despite everything, some of them are still on the market, such as formaldehyde and its derivatives (removed from medical use recognised as causing asthma and cancer).
ANECO® has been active in testing the potential of its flagship product, Aneco®, as a substitute for chlorine, which is the most effective and most widely used disinfectant for many years and has contributed to the elimination of many dangerous diseases also caused by population growth and poor living conditions. However, chlorine combined with organic matter has been shown to produce dangerous products such as chloramines, carcinogens or substances with serious
Aneco® is used as an alternative method for water treatment in commercial and industrial applications, including human waste treatment and oil exploration, ensuring that waterways and the environment are not contaminated at source.
Aneco®, is an electrolysed saltwater mixture, which was developed by ANECO® to provide a unique biochemical fluid with electrochemically activated water. Aneco® is biodegradable. The resulting beneficial effects and the disinfectant power of chlorine, but with no harmful, toxic side-effects for humans, animals and the environment, make Aneco® non-hazardous to either fauna or flora.
ANECO® has also developed the technology and expertise to keep the product stable and active for a storage period of 18 to 24 months, making it an ideal product for cold sterilisation as it has excellent sporicidal, fungicidal and bactericidal powers at the same time.
